U.S. Soccer announced on Monday, Aug. 3, that Mauricio Pochettino has signed a new four-year contract to remain head coach of the USMNT through the 2030 World Cup. This marks his first full World Cup cycle with the team, having previously taken over less than two years before the home tournament. While the USMNT achieved its second-ever knockout win under his guidance, they were eliminated in a 4-1 loss to Belgium. Pochettino's new deal will see him oversee the national team pipeline, youth systems, and coaching education, with financial backing again offset in significant part by Citadel CEO Ken Griffin.
