A box of NES cartridges brought to a Wisconsin retro store six years ago was found to contain 97 copies of a previously unknown variant of 'Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt'. The cartridges, which were saved from a gold recovery service, feature unique motherboards, screws, and stickers dated August 1993. Upon grading, five of the cartridges received a perfect PSA 10 rating - the first NES games to ever achieve this score. Some will be kept for private collections, while others are heading to auction.
The discovery represents a major video game preservation find with the first-ever perfect NES grades.
