Bobby Prince, the legendary composer behind Doom and Wolfenstein 3D, has died

Legendary video game composer and sound designer Robert Caskin Prince III, widely known as Bobby Prince, passed away on June 16 at the age of 81. Prince was renowned for creating the iconic soundtracks and sound effects for seminal 1990s PC games, including Doom, Doom 2, and Wolfenstein 3D. His Doom soundtrack, celebrated for its heavy metal influences, was inducted into the US Library of Congress' National Recording Registry.
