Fallout: New Vegas developer Obsidian is in a massive legal battle over alleged labor violations. ⚖️
What the video says
RPG developer Obsidian Entertainment is fighting a landmark legal battle that could redefine its reputation as a class-action lawsuit alleges systemic labor violations. The lawsuit, initiated by QA lead Victoria Turner, accuses the developer of Fallout: New Vegas of committing widespread wage and hour violations.
Turner alleges the studio failed to pay minimum and overtime wages, denied lawful meal breaks, and neglected to reimburse basic business costs. The battle began in October before escalating with an amended complaint in January targeting Obsidian's treatment of non-exempt California employees since 2021.
In a major inflection point, Obsidian filed a response categorically denying every single allegation and claiming employees consented to the working conditions. This defense stands in sharp contrast to the studio's public image, leaving the final outcome of this historic labor clash to be decided in court.
