The high-end 2TB model reaches $1,349, or $1,428 with the controller. To actually buy one, pre-orders open on June 25th, using a randomized selection process from an active waitlist.
Valve is utilizing this system to actively combat the severe pre-order challenges documented during its recent controller launch. Missing out on this initial wave carries a notable penalty, as new stock for the standalone Steam Controller will not arrive until 2027.
