The attacker originally drained $4.5 million back in September 2025. They recently swapped their remaining DAI for over 6,000 ETH to feed the privacy mixer.
Simultaneously, a wallet linked to the defunct Mining Express scheme woke up. Spectre reports this wallet swapped 5,004 ETH for 8.8 million DAI.
This occurred after fully unstaking those funds in May 2026. Analysts argue this dual movement exposes a watershed gap, proving DeFi still lacks the systems to freeze illicit assets once they are in motion.
