What if your Windows PC could control your Android phone without you ever having to open a separate app? Microsoft is reportedly prototyping deep new integration features to make your mobile device feel like a native part of Windows 11.
According to Windows Central, a new phone icon on your taskbar will open a dedicated smartphone flyout when connected. This popup will show your phone status and let you toggle features like Do Not Disturb, Vibrate mode, or even Find Your Phone.
You could also drag files directly onto that taskbar icon to instantly transfer them to your device. Other pivotal upgrades in development include syncing your entire clipboard history, instead of just the last copied item.
A standalone Messages app is also being planned, allowing you to pin your conversations directly to the Start menu. These features are currently being prototyped internally, meaning they could still change before Microsoft releases them to the public.
