New Apple Productivity App

Apple users have a new way to organize their lives, as creator Chris Lally has launched his highly anticipated notes and tasks app, Parchment. The release was confirmed by David Pearce in the latest edition of the Installer newsletter.

It targets a crowded space. Lally built it to combine simple writing with structured daily organization.

Taken together, the launch joins a wave of new utility tools, This week also saw the arrival of Hypertexting, which turns personal RSS feeds into an open social network. Additionally, a new Mac-based photo editor named Ephera is aiming to directly replace heavy Adobe tools.

Whether Parchment can stand out among these fresh productivity options is the next big test for Lally's new venture.
