Pokémon Inside Claude Code
Waiting for AI code to generate is now a retro gaming session. Here is how developers are catching Pokémon inside their terminals while Claude Code works.
What the video says
Waiting for AI code generation just got a lot more nostalgic with the release of Clawdemon. Developer Zamorowski created this local terminal plugin to let you catch Pokémon inside Claude code while the model works on your prompts.
Every prompt you send buys you steps through a patch of virtual grass, and every 20 seconds Claude spends processing counts as another step. Wild encounters pop up in a dedicated terminal tab, but they only linker for 30 seconds to prevent a massive queue of battles from piling up.
The game features the original 151 Pokémon, running entirely locally with no external account or backend needed. Fights include authentic Game Boy stats, movesets, and status conditions, complete with a trainer battle theme that plays as you weaken and catch them.
