PlayStation is officially killing physical game discs. As player preferences overwhelmingly shift to digital downloads, Sony is adapting to the market.

While older disc releases remain unaffected, future titles will only be sold digitally on the PlayStation Store and at retail. Sony is ending physical disc production for all new PlayStation games starting January 2028.
