3 massive international consortiums just got shortlisted for the Arctic. Major construction on this massive northern corridor is expected to span approximately 5 years.
To get there, $50 million in conditional funding was approved through the First and Last Mile Fund. The plans include a 230-kilometer all-season road and a deepwater ocean port.
This infrastructure will unlock critical mineral deposits like copper and zinc in Nunavut. It is all for the Grays Bay Road and Port Project, with West Kitikmeet Resources Corp intending to select the winning builder in March 2027.
