Trades Demand Hits Ten-Year High
One in six Ontario jobs is projected to be in the skilled trades by 2035. Here is how the province is preparing for this massive demand.

1 in 6 Ontario jobs will be trades-related. To prepare, the Ontario government is kicking off its 5th annual Level Up Skilled Trades career fairs.
These multi-day events will visit 12 communities, showcasing some of the province's 144 skilled trades. The fairs are expected to reach more than 60,000 attendees through interactive exhibitions.
Currently, Ontario has over 94,000 active apprentices, marking a 10-year high. This massive demand is projected to hit by 2035, when about 1 in 6 job openings will be trades-related.
