What the video says
North America's first battery-grade cobalt refinery is moving into equipment installation. Electra Battery Materials is advancing construction at its brownfield site in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario.
The facility is designed to process 18,000 tonnes of cobalt hydroxide feed annually. That input will yield 5,120 tonnes of contained cobalt per year.
Glencore secures total feedstock through 2027, while LG Energy Solution has committed to 60% of output through 2029. Vice President Paolo Toscano confirmed mechanical equipment is now installed in the crystallizer, as focus shifts from infrastructure to commissioning.
