Cloud Code is quietly blocking developers from building games. Around October 27th, developers reported unexpected server-side refusals whenever prompting the tool for game code.
The owner of Conflict Simulations LLC faced blocks on commissioned digital board games built for verified clients. The developer wrote, "A blanket category rule against games cannot tell the difference between piracy and commissioned professional work." Separately, automated safeguards in the platform are flagging anti-cheat systems and game security checks.
While Anthropic hasn't documented any policy change, its support bot confirmed a server-side rule against game reproduction covers all customers without exceptions.
