ChatGPT can now build custom animated GIFs natively. OpenAI is rolling out its Images 2.6 update across web, desktop, and mobile apps for ChatGPT and Codex users.
The update brings faster image generation alongside two new API models, GPT Image 2.6 Flare and Sunburst. Weekly image production has climbed from 3 billion in September to over 4 billion today.
Before this launch, generating moving graphics inside the interface was impossible in a single step. Now you can generate GIFs from prompts or uploaded photos, edit frame by frame, and adjust animation speed.
