What the video says

Daisy Ridley's new horror movie has a terrifying pregnancy twist! Deadline reported the Star Wars actress has been cast in the upcoming feature Get Rid of It.

The project is written by Gemma Holdway and directed by Before I Fall filmmaker Ry Russo-Young. Sosie Bacon and Simon Rex co-star alongside Ridley, with Whiplash producer David Lancaster producing.

Filming for the feature is officially scheduled to get underway in early 2027. Russo-Young said, "Propulsive and playful, this project's strength is its compelling point of view and heart beneath the horror." Before production starts, Ridley returns to theaters on November 13th in the holiday movie Ebenezer.

Directed by Ti West, the film is a darker take on A Christmas Carol starring Johnny Depp. Her new roles expand a horror slate that includes Skrull and the modern zombie feature We Bury the Dead.

She also starred in "Cleaner," "Magpie," and the drama "Young Woman and the Sea." Ridley will also star in the rom-com "The Last Resort" and executive produce a Paramount+ series. Meanwhile, her return as Rey in the Star Wars franchise remains uncertain.

Reports suggest Charmaine Obaid-Chinoy's standalone Rey film may be shelved. Lucasfilm may instead move forward with a separate Star Wars trilogy written by Simon Kinberg.

That uncertainty frees Ridley to dive headfirst into Get Rid of It's dark, cross-country journey. She plays Harper, whose sister helps her fight for survival when the entity growing inside her after a one-night stand may not be human.
