Would you risk your life for 50 times minimum wage? That is the bargain facing Byeon Hak-joon, played by Lee Jae-wook, in the Korean horror-comedy series "Dead End Job." Buried in debt, Hak-joon answers a flyer from Spider Staffing Agency with one rule: never speak about the job.

When Hak-joon calls his shift a nightmare, agency boss Mr. S, played by Lee Hee-jun, calls it a sweet gig.

Every shift drops him into a new workplace hiding a unique monster, from a convenience store to a bioclinic. Netflix released all 8 episodes together, spanning over 5 hours, with episode runtimes between 33 and 44 minutes.

Director Kim Da-min, writer of "A Killer Paradox," joined DP/creator Han Joon-hee to lead creative development. Written by Kyung-min Sun and Lee Shin-ji, the series carries a TV-MA rating in the United States, The first 4 episodes debuted October 7 at the 31st Busan International Film Festival, earning comparisons to Stranger Things.

Outlets like Pixel 12 praised Lee Jae-wook's terrified performance, awarding the full season a 7 out of 10. Critics at Leisure Byte warned that inconsistent CGI and unexplained character backgrounds leave certain plot elements half-baked.

Netflix has not yet announced a second season for the limited series. Creator Han Joon-hee emphasized that people must enjoy watching it before any renewal can happen.

"Upcoming launch weekend numbers on Netflix's top 10 list will deliver the first clear metric of success." Han advised viewers to enter with zero spoilers and watch the entire shift in one single viewing. All 8 episodes of K-horror comedy "Dead End Job" are now streaming in full on Netflix.
